I’m reading HDTV reviews and keep reading ‘SD’ ratings. What is ‘SD’ when talking new (rear projection) TV?

SD should stand for ‘standard definition’ (480 vertical lines of resolution vs. HD’s 720 lines); I’m assuming the specs of resolution are given for viewing SD (non-HD broadcast) signals on the tv.
