Should I buy 1080p LCD TV or wait for some future product improvements?
What are the emerging product features in TV? Should I wait a few months for the next big thing in TVs (I don’t even know what that might be). Looking at Toshiba or Sharp 42″ LCD 1080p for around $2K
In the next few months LCD’s that use LED’s instead of the conventional cold cathode ray tube will be released.
This means that picture quality on LCD will improve, these are going to be quite pricey tho.
If you keep waiting for the next big thing to come out then you will probably wait forever. The technologies used in these TV’s are advancing constantly not by leaps and bounds but by baby steps.
The best LCD’s on the market at the moment are the Samsung LNT series. Unlike the Sharp’s they dont exhibit any “banding” and very minor (if any) clouding. Picture quality is astounding. Shop around. Try to stay away from Best Buy or Circuit City which outrageously overcharge.
